I was asleep in my bed at two in the morning back in Feb of 09 and a drunk driver drove through my bedroom. My bed went through the wall into another room and i woke up to a wall and a truck on top of me. I dont remember any of it till i was being taken out of the ambulance at the hospital. I was in St. Fransis Hospital and i ended up with broken/fractured hip&pelvis. Broken finger and wrist. tons of bruising and scaring. Im home and not in school and my dad doesnt think i need a lawyer but i want one so cant i go on my own and get one even though im only 16?
If you can help your answers will be very appreceitaive.
Thank You.!

Your parent may be able to prevent you from getting your own lawyer unless you sue for independence from that parent.
You clearly do not have the ability to get a lawyer at your parent’s cost. But if you can get a lawyer to work on the basis that they get paid only from your award, you might think you are home free.
Not so. You can not sign to commit part of your award, that too is in your parent’s rights.

nope – as a minor you can not enter into any contract — you will have to have to find an adult to act on your behalf!!!
